These Field Education requirements reflect the degree programs for students who entered North Park Theological Seminary in Fall 2011 or later. Students who began their studies prior to Fall 2011 should contact the Field Education office for details on their requirements.
Master of Divinity
You will complete 11 Field Education credits in addition to the 79 academic credit hours required for your MDiv:
- 1 credit earned by taking Vocational Excellence
- 8 credits earned through internship
- 1 credit earned by completing the cultural competency module
- 1 credit earned through a theological reflection module
- 0 credits earned from a clinical pastoral education experience
Master of Arts in Christian Formation
You will complete seven Field Education credits in addition to the 48 academic credit hours required for the MACF:
- 1 credit earned by taking Vocational Excellence
- 4 credits earned through internship
- 1 credit earned by completing the cultural competency module
- 1 credit earned through a theological reflection module
Master of Arts in Christian Ministry
You will participate in three Field Education credits in addition to the 36 academic credit hours required for the MACM:
- 1 credit earned by taking Vocational Excellence
- 1 credit earned by completing the cultural competency module
- 1 credit earned through a theological reflection module
Master of Arts in Theological Studies
The MATS includes two Field Education components in addition to the 60 academic credit hours required for the degree:
- 1 credit earned by taking Vocational Excellence
- 1 credit earned by completing the cultural competency module
